Silverstream Primary School Growing Club |
Since 2006, pupils from Silverstream Primary School have been growing fruit and vegetables such as potatoes, beans, peas onions, herbs and much more in their school. In June 2008 the school won a Green Flag award see photo below.



Silverstream Green Club pupils plant trees to attract insects to the school grounds and work toward their Green Flag award.

Carrickfergus Borough Council developed the Carrickfergus in Bloom initiative to brighten up the Borough, to become a Borough of Flowers. Our objective is to make a Brighter Borough for the benefit of all citizens and visitors. The Carrickfergus in Bloom initiative includes the towns of Carrickfergus, Whitehead, Eden and Greenisland.
